It’s Friday — and time for GoAbroad’s Blog of the Week! This week’s selection is:
Jandal Road
Today’s Blog of the Week features Jandal Road, created by travel blogger Christina Hegele. The blog covers articles on working holidays, independent travel and adventures across the world–particularly featuring New Zealand. Jandal Road is also an award-winning blog, after having winning the Blog4NZ campaign and Virgin Atlantic’s WhyYVR competition. Together with her partner Bodo, Christina utilizes Jandal Road to share her travel experiences with a wider audience. As she notes on the blog, “when travelling I often found myself thinking that other travellers could benefit from my experience and all the information one collects about places, so I decided to put a few articles together, and voila, Jandal Road was born!”
Why We Love It
So where does the name of this travel blog come from? As Christina explains, “Jandals” is the term that refers to Japanese sandals – or what other cultures may know as “flip-flops” or “thongs.” And just like a good pair of shoes or sandals, Jandal Road explores great destinations, describes places to stay, offers practical advice on planning your trip, what to see and do, and even valuable insight from locals. We also love that Jandal Road includes a German Edition on the blog, in which posts are written in German and feature a variety of Christine’s experiences in Germany. Feeling like you need to put your bilingual skills to the test? This section of Jandal Road will offer exactly what you’re looking for!
See Jandal Road for more updates and posts, and explore GoAbroad.com for thousands of opportunities to work abroad!
Every week GoAbroad features an abroad-related blog as our selection for Blog of the Week. The featured blog has been chosen because it features interesting and well-written abroad or travel-related experiences. Do you know a blog you’d like to nominate for the GoAbroad Blog of the Week award? Get information on how to submit a nomination on the GoAbroad Blogger Programs page!
